5QF - 04/30/10

Yippieh - it's Friday! And so it's time for Mama M. Five Question Friday!
Looking forward to this all week long :-)

Let's get it started:
1. If you could, would you go back to high school?
> We don't have High School up here but it's comparable to our Gymnasium and Realschule. Well, I didn't like going to school at all. I wasn't bad but I just didn't like it. So, no, I won't go back to school.

2. If a genie appeared and granted you two wishes, what would they be? (And, no saying "more wishes".)
> Just two? Oh, uhm, that's tough. Well, the first would be that me and my family will stay healthy. Second? Hm... Money or Love? Love or Money? Uhm I think I'd choose money, as much money that I won't need to care about money anymore. And pretend that the love will stay as it is and that's it's my effort to keep us a happy family!

3. What kids show do you secretly like?
> Uhm "Hannah Montana". I really like it. And "Hotel Jack and Cody". So cute...

4. What is your beverage of choice?
> My everyday beverage is water (which I just do drink coz it's healthy and don't make me fat). But apart from that I like MezzoMix..

5. What is something that you would change about yourself (or are working to change in yourself)?
> My jealousy, I'm working on that for years now and it really improved. Another thing is to get my moods in order and handle them...

What would your answers be? Join in!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Avocation Needed

This week, it's sunny and very warm and so I'll be outside as often as possible - the cause of my lack of blogging...

So, well, I think I need your help!
As you all know we're planning to get pregnant again this year. I learned that if you're concentrating too much on getting pregnant it won't work out. So if there's some serious avocation you're getting crowned with success faster.
The first pregancy happened while planning the wedding (so we needed to postpone it). I was so into wedding planning that it worked like a charm.

Now, I need some other avocation. Sure, D is avocation but I need something non-kid related if possible.
Here are some suggestion I already made to myself:
- taking a sewing course (I cannot sew and I always want to learn it for real)
- building the perfect farm on Farmville (which will be just a short project)
- knitting some kid's clothes or a scarf (and learning how-to)

So, what else? Are there any suggestion from your side? Please, let me know!

Thanks in advance and have a wonderful day!

5QF - 04/23/10

Yay Friday and time for Mama M.'s Five Question Friday :-)
Join in, it's always fun!

1. What was the first car you owned?
> A white Ford Fiesta, year of construction was 1993 as far as I remember. When I bought it in 2001 it was quite old and had already some buckles and rust. I had it until 2003 when the motor broke for good.

2. What song are you embarrassed to know the lyrics to?
> Blümchen "Boomerang" - this was a nice song in the 90's, when I was a teenager. I heard it some days ago and I still knew all the lyrics - very embarrassing!

3. Have you ever had stitches?
> Uhm yes. I broke my thumb when I was 4 (don't ask me how) so I got a wonderful scar there. And on my right foot as well.

4. What was your first job?
> It was a job when I was 13 and it was paper deliverer. I hated it!

5. Who is your favorite Sesame Street character?
> Oh damn, that's quite a looooooong time ago. But I remember a pink snail called Finchen - she was soooo cute and bff of Samson, the blue bear. (I'm not sure it the German characters are the same than the American...)

Have a wonderful weekend! :-)

ThursdayFive in combination with WW

So today I am able to combine Keely's Thursday Five with Mama Kat's Writer's Workshop.
Keely wants to your five things that made you happy that week and so I chose Mama Kat's prompt No. 3: What's the joy in your present moment?

So here we go:

1) Right now, I enjoy my little spare time for blogging and facebook-ing while D is taking his nap and hubby's still at work.

2) Tuesday was Gran's Day (D is with my parents for the afternoon) and so hubby and I could relax.

3) "The sun is shining, the weather is sweet..." Yes, summer's coming!

4) I enjoyed the silence during the European flight interdiction (maybe you heard about the ash cloud as consequence of Iceland's vulcanic eruption) and there are still just a few planes passing by...

5) Soccer (do you say soccer or football?) time tomorrow and I'm looking forward to it - always with the hope that they'll win :-)

Join in yourself though.

5QF - 04/16/10

Yay Friday and it's time for Mama M.'s Five Question Friday - oh you know how much I LOVE doing this carnival! It's always fun so hop over and join in :-)

1. What words do you use on your blog/online that you don't use in real life?
> Well, any words - nearly any words - I use on my blog I don't use in real life. Why? It's a blog written in English and I do speak German. See? ;-)

2. Do you still write checks?
> No. I never have! My mom does it from time to time... Soooo old-fashioned *gg*

3. Who was your favorite President and why?
> I won't answer this question coz I really don't have any idea who was best or not. But I can tell you for sure that it won't be any of the Bush ones! (From my point of view, I think Kennedy and Clinton (even if he had sex with this woman) were simpatico but I don't know if they were good presidents and that's what it's all about...)

4. Are you a yeller?
> Yes. Sometimes. Don't know why but yelling is sometimes quite a relief for me (getting rid of pressure and anger). It's a bad habit, a real bad habit!

5. Have you ever dumpster dived?
> You mean if I ever rummaged around in garbage? No. Not that I do remember. Sometimes, in the office but it was just my trash can full of papers. So no real garbage-diving.

Have a wonderful weekend out there and enjoy!

Thursday Five - 04/15/10

I just found out that Keely over at MannLand5 has this blog thing called "Thursday Five". It's about 5 happy, joyful and positive things that happened to you the past week. Great idea so I think I'll give it a try :-)

Hop over if you're nosy!

1) Went shopping on Tuesday. My parents took D over for some hours and I had some time to go shopping unhurriedly.

2) D is doing 2-hours-nappings this week and I appreciate it much.

3) I was softly woken up by hubby and D this morning as they kissed me rotationally :-) I love D's drool-y kisses...

4) Sleeping in last Sunday and have a nice breakfast with hubby.

5) And we booked our tickets for the summer holiday.

How about you?

5QF + TTMMD:Friday - 04/09/10

Yay, Friday and I'm posting again. Hubby's on holiday and I got no chance to blog. I wanted to do a review of our Easter Holidays and the issues with my "Monster" in-law. And about D's inoculation. But well, that's past now and I hope I'll be back blogging within the next week.

Hubby's grocery shopping now and so I have a bit of time to join in Mama M.'s Five Question Friday! :-)

1. Who would you want to play you in a movie of your life?
> Haha, great question. Really, I love this question. I think Renée Zellweger would be great. I'd love her to be me, not in real life but in my life's movie. :-)

2. Did you ever go to summer camp?
> Yes. Not as a kid. But as a custodian. I always liked that job.

3. What sends you running and screaming in the other direction?
> Spiders. And my MIL.

4. What is something you do that drives your spouse nuts?
> Blogging. I really mean it. If he could he would destroy all computers around me. He goes crazy even if I just start my computer.

5. What is currently your favorite song?
> "Satellite" by Lena Meyer-Landrut. She won a contest for being send to the Eurovision Song Contest. I hope she's able to represent Germany there coz then we have a little chance of winning the whole stuff :-)

Enjoy and have a wonderful weekend!
